He said we should see lots of big mountains, but, alas, when we got there everything was in a soft mist which was disappointing, especially as we left Blackpool in all the glory of a May morning. However, we ate our picnic lunch and gathered pretty little wild daffodils, but mother, and the auntie and Miss Cater (who wore pink) were beginning to feel anxious because some cows were coming into our field. We were glad to see Grandpa and get into the boat out of their way and the year was 1908.
