Robert Farrier
Biography
Painter of genre and portraits who exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1818 - 1859. Titles include " The Prophecy "and " You'll Marry A Rich Young Lady ".
He often painted school children. His sister Charlotte was a miniaturist.
Farrier painted during a period when animal painting was being transformed by a sentimental vision focusing on domestic pets. His paintings of interiors with children are admirable, he found these subjects bought an estatic response from his clientele who began to thrive on Farrier's successful inclusion of sentiment.
His period charm has succeeded with a subject which has been so highly rated and sought after for many years.
