Biography
Millicent Gore was a painter of interiors and domestic scenes. Her address was listed as Brookside, Barnes, London.
What we can admire in Gore's work is her accomplished craftsmanship and the intimacy and tender homeliness of her conception. The majority of Gore’s paintings deal with the life of the kitchen, the workshop, the dwellings of the humble, and mainly with the pleasures and little troubles of the young, which the artist brings before us with humor and sympathy. She was one of the most popular British painters of domestic genre of the late 19th and early 20th century.
Gore had an impressive exhibition list showing numerous works being displayed at Dudley Gallery, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Society of Women Artists.
