Karoly Bachmann was born in Budapest in 1874. He was a pupil of Agghazy and B. Szekely in about 1890, then of Lefèvre, Jean-Paul Laurens and Robert Fleury of Paris. His first painting:”Rest in Csarda”, was exhibited in Budapest in 1892. It was after this time that Bachmann then devoted himself to painting in miniature.
