Henri Brispot
Biography
Henri Brispot was a painter who was born in Beauvais-Oise, France, on 5 July 1846 and who died in Paris in 1928. A pupil of Bonnat, he exhibited at the Salon until 1927.
Brispot’s principal works are: “The Baptism Meal”, “Burial of a Farmer in Picardy”, “The Bottle of Champagne”, “Noce surprised by the Storm”, “Giving of Holy Water”, “The Day of the Poor”, “The King Drinks!”. All of which were reproduced by engraving.
Brispot received an honourable mention in 1881, a third medal in 1885 and a monetary prize at the Universal Exposition in 1889.
