Gustav Igler
Biography
Austrian genre painter, Gustav Igler, was born in Oldenburg, in 1842. He was the student of Waldmuller in Vienna and Ramberg in Munich. In 1888, he was called to the Academy in Stuttgart to become the Principal of technical painting. Upon retiring in 1914, Igler returned to Munich.
Igler exhibited his work in Munich from 1879 and achieved success as a painter of genre and other figurative scenes. He died in 1908.
His paintings often showed an idealistic view of children playing and having fun.
