George Armfield
Biography
George Armfield was a London painter of dogs, especially terriers chasing birds, cats or mice.
Armfield exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1840 and 1862, also at the British Institute and Suffolk Street.
The artist also painted landscapes, dead game birds and other wild animals. His small dog pictures are often thought of as Landseer’s.
