Frederich Albert Schroder

Biography

Frederich Albert Schroder was a painter of figurative genre scenes and portraits as well as being an illustrator. He studied at the School de Ch. Verlat et F. Pauwels and worked in Munich and Dresden.

Cavaliers playing cards, morning visitors, letter writers, a cavalier refreshing, the armourers or servants at domestic employment constitute many of the subjects used in Schroder’s interior scenes. This fine example of Schroder’s work illustrates his polished style and is rich in detail. Every surface has been marvellously represented with a refined technique presenting us with an exquisite and desirable piece.

Examples of his work can be found at Les Musees de Duisbourg. A recorded sale of “ Jeu de Cartes ” on 27th February 1947 in New York shows that it made $ 750.
