Edmund Adler

Biography

Edmund Adler was a genre painter of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Adler is renowned for being one of the most respected painters of Austrian genre subjects of the last century and particularly excellent are his representations of children.

He was skillful in adapting the style to the subject and there is a remarkable air of gentility in all his figures, a caring nature about their actions, rich colouring in the fabrics, and the whole is united with care.

Adler’s canvases are admirably expressive and always reveal a marvellous eye for accuracy and detail. This charming painting instantly touches the heart of the viewer.
