Christian Heuser
Biography
Christian Heuser was born in Millingen in 1862. He was a well-regarded genre and portrait painter.
It is for his detailed character studies of Bavarian men that he won most acclaim. These highly finished paintings of local individuals typify a genre of art associated with Germany at this time. There is an incredible degree of care and precision in Heuser’s works. His pursuit of accuracy is evident when first casting an eye upon these remarkable works, under a magnifying glass his brilliance is truly appreciated.
Heuser’s work is as much admired today, as it was when it was painted.
