Augustus Jules Bouvier

Biography

Augustus Jules Bouvier was a London painter in watercolours, of portraits, genre, figure and biblical subjects.

He was the son of Jules Bouvier. Augustus entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1841, and afterwards studied in France. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1845-81 as well as at Suffolk Street, British Institute (1852-79) but mainly at the New Watercolour Society where he was elected an associate in 1852 and made a member in 1865.
