August Godknecht
Biography
August Godknecht was a painter of portraits, landscapes and of genre scenes. He was born in Lübech on 1 March 1824 and died in the same town 11 August 1888. He was a pupil of the Academies of Munich and of Dresden also of Hubner at Dusseldorf. Godtknecht worked at Lübech, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Dresden and Venice. The Museum of Lübech holds three works of the artist.
