Alfrida Baadsgaard
Biography
Alfrida Baadsgaard was born in Copenhagen on 17 September 1839.
She was a 19th Century painter of still lifes and was considered a member of the Danish School. She made her exhibition debut in 1876.
Baadsgaard was an eminent still life painter. Her paintings of flowers are distinguishable by colouring and spirit of execution.
As she advanced in reputation, her ability was under great request by collectors of her day. She must have been an artist of unwearied application and unconquerable patience, for the blooms of her flowers, in all their varieties, are represented with the greatest accuracy.
